A Cezve is a coffee pot designed specifically to make a coffee. Cezve is the correct Turkish term for what is commonly called an Ibrik in the United States. Ibrik is the Arabic term, and thus not used by the Turks themselves. Cezve word is also used in Ukraine [d(zh)Ezva], along with [tUrka].
Originally Cezve was designed to make Turkish coffee but with time it became used to cook traditional coffee in order to add specific taste of open fire. The long handle is particularly useful to avoid burning one's hands, and the brim is designed to serve the coffee.
Also Cezve provides specific temparature conditions that provides better environment for cooking and transferring of coffee seeds aromas to the cooked coffee. The coffee that is prepared in such way allows you to fully assess a taste and aroma of your coffee.
